Can an electronic company search provide financial statements?

Yes. An electronic company search can obtain the financial statements of a Cyprus company when they have been filed and processed and are available on its Registrar of Companies file. This helps investors, business partners and advisers review publicly available records before a transaction or business relationship.

The search retrieves existing records; it does not prepare new accounts, complete a missing filing or obtain documents that are not available through the Registrar.

Why do “filed and processed” financial statements matter?

A company may have prepared or submitted financial statements without those documents yet being accessible on its public file. The reporting year you need may be missing or awaiting processing. A search is therefore not a guarantee that the latest financial statements will be available.

Distinguish the financial year covered by the statements from the date they were filed or became accessible. Older filed statements should not be treated as a description of the company’s current financial position.

How to request a company’s financial statements

1. Visit Themis e-Services and choose Electronic Company Search. You can browse as a guest; signing in is required to place an order.
2. Select the registered company name and matching registration number to avoid confusing companies with similar names.
3. If you need particular financial years, contact eservices@themis.com.cy before ordering so our team can clarify the scope and availability. After ordering, quote your order reference in any correspondence.
4. Review your basket and pay. Electronic Company Search is EUR 100 + VAT, including disbursements, and the full company search and all company documents are delivered electronically within 1 business day.
5. Our team obtains the available records and provides the search documents electronically. Delivered search documents remain available in Account settings for 30 days from first delivery.

What if the financial statements are not available?

Missing records may reflect a filing or processing delay, or the absence of accessible statements for the requested period. Do not assume that missing statements prove a company is inactive, insolvent or non-compliant. Our team can explain which requested records are available; where current information is essential, you may need to request it directly from the company.

Does a search verify the company’s financial position?

No. Obtaining a filed document is not an audit, a credit rating or a guarantee of accuracy or solvency. Check the reporting period, any audit or review report included, and the document’s contents. Do not describe every set of filed statements as audited without checking the actual report. A qualified accountant or appropriate adviser should assess the figures if you need a transaction-specific opinion.

Financial statements or company certificates?

Financial statements concern financial information for a reporting period. Company certificates provide specified registry information, such as directors, shareholders or registered office details; they do not replace financial statements.
